What is OSCOLA referencing and where can I get help with it?
Answer
OSCOLA is the Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities.
It is a referencing format for legal citations.
The OSCOLA Ireland reference guide 2016 is available to download from their website HERE and the quick reference guide. THIS video developed by the DCU library demonstrates how to cite and reference using OSCOLA and should help you get started.
The library holds copies of How to think, write and cite: key skills for Irish lawyers. It is developed by the authors of the OSCOLA Ireland site. Details and location of all the copies held in the IT Carlow libraries (including the reference only copies) are available HERE. It is a good support text to help you with this referencing style.
